Our story
More Than a Shelter. A Second Beginning.
Founded in 2019 on the Maine coast, we care for one breed exceptionally well rather than many adequately.
We began with one cat, surrendered at nine years old, twenty-four pounds and badly matted. It took four months to bring him back. It took one afternoon to find him the right home.
Maine Coons arrive at shelters for particular reasons — size, grooming demands, closed breeding programmes, allergies discovered too late. Generic shelters do their best, but a breed this large and this social needs specific care.
Every cat that comes through our doors receives full veterinary work-up, dental assessment, cardiac screening where indicated, coat rehabilitation, and as many weeks of quiet socialisation as they need. Nothing is rushed. Nothing is a transaction.
We match slowly and honestly. If a cat is not right for your household, we will say so — and we will remember you when the right one arrives.
